This was a fun hat to design. I have been playing around with shape and style and this is the result.

This beanie uses one stitch in two ways. First you are making the hat in double crochet, and then you finish the brim in all fpdc. This is the second version of this hat.Version one is a beanie and uses the same concept for a brim.

This hat will fit a size 20-22” as it is snug but has some stretch to it.

This hat should take between 3 - 4 hours to complete depending on your skill level.

Pattern is written in US crochet terms. This pattern gives you PERMISSION TO SELL your finished items. It is appreciated if you credit the design to Acquanetta Ferguson and to list the pattern link.

Gauge:

7 sts = 2’

4 rows = 2’

Red Heart With Love

H hook

Tapestry Needle

Stitches used:

Double Crochet – dc

Front Post Double Crochet - fpdc

Round 1 With H hook, ch 3, then 15 dc in in 3rd ch from hook. Sl st in 1st dc. (15 dc)

Round 2 Ch 2, 1 dc in the same stitch as the ch 2 (ch 2 counts as dc here and throughout), 2 dc in each stitch around. Sl st in ch 2. (30 dc)

Round 3 Ch 2, 2 dc in next stitch, *dc in next stitch, 2 dc in next stitch,* repeat from * around. Sl st in ch 2. (45 dc)

Round 4 Ch 2, dc in next stitch, 2 dc in next stitch, *dc in next 2 stitches, 2 dc in next stitch* repeat from * around. Sl st in ch 2. (60 dc)

Round 5 Ch 2, dc in each stitch around. Sl st in ch 2. (60 dc).

Round 6 Ch 2, dc in next 8 stitches, 2 dc in next stitch, *dc in next 9 stitches, 2 dc in next stitch* repeat from * around. Sl st in ch 2. (66 dc)

Round 7 Ch 2, dc in each stitch around. Sl st in ch 2. (66 dc)

Round 8 Ch 2, dc in next 9 stitches, 2 dc in next stitch, *dc in next 10 stitches, 2 dc in next stitch* repeat from * around. Sl st in ch 2. (72 dc)

Round 9 – 12 Ch 2, dc in each stitch around. Sl st in ch 2. (72 dc)

Round 13 Ch 2, dc in next 8 stitches, dc dec, *dc in next 9 stitches, dc dec* repeat from * around. Sl St in ch 2. (64 dc)

Round 14 -15 Ch 2, dc in each stitch around. Sl st in ch 2. (64 dc)

Round 16 Ch 2, fpdc in same stitch, fpdc in each stitch around. Sl st around in fpdc. (64 dc)

Round 17 - 20 Ch 2, fpdc in same stitch, fpdc in each stitch around. In last round sl st in dc. (64 dc)

Fasten off and weave in ends.
