12 days of DIY crochet gifts to make: Day 5- trendy slouchy hat
Acquanetta Ferguson
Day 5 of the 12 days of DIY gifts to make presents a very trendy slouchy hat that is simple to make, yet is so visually stunning.
When it comes to hats, most, if not all hat patterns, usually have you going in rounds without turning, and I thought what happens if you do turn your work in a hat pattern, will something bad happen? Apparently not as I discovered that crocheting in the round, and turning your work after each round (like when working a square or rectangular piece) gives a normal simple hat pattern that extra bit of pop.
The pattern as is will work as a small. If you need a larger size, some suggestions would be to not do the singlecrochet decreases called for in the pattern, or use a bigger hook size.
The beauty of this hat is that it will work for a woman or a man, which should make gift giving easy. This hat is great for advanced beginners to try something new and it is great for experienced crocheters wanting to try something different.
The hat project time is about 4 hours.
Please do not post this pattern on your website or take it as your own. I ask that you instead link to my page, which will help with internet karma. Please note you can use this pattern for personal use and sell what you make. I only ask that you credit me as the pattern creator and link to this article. Thank you.
