Day 4 brings a pattern using a fine weight yarn that is the perfect lightweight slouch gift to give for those who stay away from bulky hats. This slouch is a year round staple and with the fun striping yarn a dream to make.

The hat should fit a teen to a woman so 20-22”. This hat only takes 1 skein to make.

This hat should take between 3-4 hours to complete depending on your skill level.

9 sts = 2’

5 rows = 2’

Materials:

Serenity Garden Yarn or equivalent (fine yarn size 2)

E hook

Tapestry Needle

Stitches used:

Single Crochet - sc

Double Crochet – dc

Round 1 With E hook, ch 3, then 10 dc in in 3rd ch from hook. Sl st in 1st dc. (10 dc)

Round 2 Ch 2, 1 dc in the same stitch as the ch 2 (ch 2 counts as dc here and throughout), 2 dc in each stitch around. Sl st in ch 2. (20 dc)

Round 3 Ch 2, 2 dc in next stitch, *dc in next stitch, 2 dc in next stitch,* repeat from * around. Sl st in ch 2. (30 dc)

Round 4 Ch 2, dc in next stitch, 2 dc in next stitch, *dc in next 2 stitches, 2 dc in next stitch* repeat from * around. Sl st in ch 2. (40 dc)

Round 5 Ch 2, dc in next 2 stitches, 2 dc in next stitch, *dc in next 3 stitches, 2 dc in next stitch, repeat from * around. Sl st in ch 2. (50 dc).

Round 6 Ch 2, dc in next 3 stitches, 2 dc in next stitch, *dc in next 4 stitches, 2 dc in next stitch* repeat from * around. Sl st in ch 2. (60 dc)

Round 7 Ch 2, dc in next 4 stitches, 2 dc in next stitch, *dc in next 5 stitches, 2 dc in next stitch* repeat from * around. Sl st in ch 2. (70 dc)

Round 8 Ch 2, dc in next 5 stitches, 2 dc in next stitch, *dc in next 6 stitches, 2 dc in next stitch* repeat from * around. Sl st in ch 2. (80 dc)

Round 9 Ch 2, dc in next 6 stitches, 2 dc in next stitch, *dc in next 7 stitches, 2 dc in next stitch* repeat from * around. Sl st in ch 2. (90 dc)

Round 10-11 Ch 2, dc in each stitch around. Sl st in ch 2. (90 dc).

Round 13-25 Ch 2, dc in each stitch around. Sl st in ch 2. (98 dc).

Round 26 Ch 2, dc in next 9 stitches, dc dec in next stitch, *dc in next 10 stitches, dc dec in next stitch* repeat from * around. Sl st in ch 2. (90 dc)

Round 27-29 Ch 1, sc in each stitch around. (90 sc)

Fasten off and weave in ends.
