Cozy
Acquanetta Ferguson
Have you tried the fun, but yarn eater project, a corner to corner blanket? I finally tried one, and boy was it fun. I enjoyed the process and thought, what else could be in the corner to corner style?
Thus was born the c2c coffee cozy. Very simple, and takes no time create, and also a great way to bust your stash. If you’re like me, you have an over-abundance of yarn.
And for those who sell their wares, I found the perfect marketing/sellers tool, a coffee template. Here is the link, and make sure you use card stock. Here is another one that I like as well and will use in the future to switch it up.
This cozy should take between 30 minutes to an hour to complete depending on your skill level. No gauge is given for this project.
Pattern is written in US crochet terms. This pattern gives you PERMISSION TO SELL your finished items. It is appreciated if you credit the design to Acquanetta Ferguson and to list the pattern link.
Materials:
Any worsted weight yarn
G hook
Tapestry Needle
Stitches used:
Double Crochet – dc
Double Crochet Decrease – dc dec
For those who are visual here is the YouTube link I used to learn.
With G hook, ch 6.
Row 1 Dc in 4th ch from hook and in next 2 ch; ch 6, turn. 1 block
Row 2: Dc in 4th ch from hook and in next 2 ch, sl st in ch 3 (from previous row), then ch 3, then 3 dc ch 3 sp. Ch 6, turn. 2 blocks
Row 3: Dc in 4th ch from hook and in next 2 ch, *sl st in ch 3 (from previous row), then ch 3, then 3 dc ch 3 sp* repeat from *. Ch 6, turn. 3 blocks
Row 4: Ch 6, dc in 4th ch from hook and in next 2 ch, *sl st in ch 3 (from previous row), then ch 3, then 3 dc ch 3 sp* repeat from *. Ch 6, turn 4 blocks
At this point you will have 4 blocks across. From
Row 5 Sl st in ch 3 sp of previous row. Turn. Then sl st in next 3 dc, and from here ch 3, then 3 dc in ch 3 space of previous row, *sl st in ch 3 (from previous row), then ch 3, then 3 dc ch 3 sp* repeat from * however do not do this for the 4th block, Instead of increasing you will now be decreasing 1 side. In last block, sl st, turn
Row 6 Sl st in next 3 dc, then ch 3 and 3 dc in ch 3 space *sl st in next ch 3 (from previous row), then ch 3, then 3 dc ch 3 sp* repeat from *. Ch 6, turn
Row 7-11 repeat row 5 - 6
Now you will start the decrease portion.
In last block, sl st, turn. Sl st in next 3 dc, then ch 3 and 3 dc in ch 3 space *sl st in next ch 3 (from previous row), then ch 3, then 3 dc ch 3 sp* repeat from * until the last block.
You should now have an 11 row, 4 block rectangle. Fold in half and whipstitch the piece together. This will fit around a normal size coffee cup from Starbucks to 7-Eleven. Enjoy!
