Summer Beanie

This is a beanie that I created last year but forgot to write up the pattern. I really like it because it is made with a cotton and acrylic blend yarn that has such a beautiful drape. It is perfect for spring and summer as it is a breathable fabric.

Materials

D Hook

1 skein Knit Picks Comfy Fingering

Stitches used:

Single Crochet - sc

Half Double Crochet - hdc

Double Crochet - dc

Front Post Double Crochet - fpdc

Back Post Double Crochet - bpdc

FYI, you will be going in a spiral so no need to sl st after each round.

Round 1 With D hook, ch 3, then 12 dc in 3rd ch from hook.  (12 dc)

Round 2  2 dc in each stitch around. (24 dc)

Round 3  *dc in first stitch, 2 dc in next stitch, repeat from * around. (36 dc)

Round 4  *dc in next 2 stitches, 2 dc in next stitch, repeat from * around.  (48 dc)

Round 5  *dc in next 3 stitches, 2 dc in next stitch, repeat from * around.  (60 dc)

Round 6  *dc in next 4 stitches, 2 dc in next stitch, repeat from * around.  (72 dc)

Round 7  *dc in next 5 stitches, 2 dc in next stitch, repeat from * around.  (84 dc)

Round 8  *dc in next 6 stitches, 2 dc in next stitch, repeat from * around.  (96 dc)

Round 9  *dc in next 7 stitches, 2 dc in next stitch, repeat from * around.  (109 dc)

Round 10 - 25 Dc in each stitch around.  (109 dc) At round 25 (last round) dc around until there are 3 stitches left in the round, hdc, sc,then sl st in the last  stitch. Ch 2 in that last stitch.

Round 26 Fpdc in same stitch as the ch 2, *bpdc in next stitch, fpdc in next stitch, repeat from * around. Sl st around first fpdc. Ch 2. (109 stitches)

Round 27 - 30 Repeat round 26. (109 stitches.) Fasten off and weave in ends.
